It all started, many years ago (how was that for dramatic ?)!.. but no, really. I guess you CAN say that this all started many years ago- my love for sneakers that is. I would say that it started back in about 1994. I was in school and I would see all my friends with the freshest Jordans on and oh, did I always want them. The first pair that I fell in love with were the Nike Air Jordan X (white/Black- light steel grey). I will never forget that moment. My friend sat next to me on the bus on the way to our field trip. We sat the whole time and talked about his shoes. He mentioned that his brother got them on sale at Ross. To this day, I still wonder if that was true or not. It did not matter, because all that stood out was that he had them on his feet and I had on..who knows and who cares what I had on. From that point on, the Jordan X had become one of my favorite Jordan. Not many rave about that shoe, but it feels good to be a little different...
Fast forward to about 2005. In 2005, I joined forces with two other buddies of mine and we started our own sneaker boutique, named "Tripod", because it was three of us. Kind of corny, isn't it? Don't worry, you can say it! That did not last too long, unfortunately. We were in a bad location, with little customers. Sad to say, the store closed down within a year, or so. Being that there was no social media to rely on made it difficult. The only outlet was word of mouth and Craigslist; and even then, Craigslist became pretty dangerous to sell shoes. For some time I took a break from sneakers; but the love that I had for sneakers kept drawing me back in. It is not that easy to give up sneakers, once you fall in love with it!
Sneaker Genie was established in 2015, services the San Francisco Bay Area, dealing mostly through word of mouth. I used to get my shoes from a buddy of mine who dealt with one of his (as they call him/her) connections for the longest time. I felt that it was always better to pay the extra and get it from him, because we know how much of a pain it is to get them online through live releases. Through my efforts, and countless months..and months...and months of networking we have gotten to a point where we can finally offer a service to the public. We do understand that we may not have the biggest inventory; but we are not stopping here. We look to surely grow an expand as a company. We specialize in pre-ordering sneakers. Our shoes are 100% authentic and we take pride in our services and in our honesty. Because, anyone knows: dealing with sneakers, after some time of buying sneakers, you are bound to end up with a pair from Ebay that was fake; and we all HATE that.
We run out of California (San Francisco Bay Area). Ideally, a lot of the sneakers that we deal with are Nike's, Adidas, Yeezy's , and retro Jordan's. We have been doing this for a few years now, and hope to get bigger as a company and hope to offer the biggest variety of sneakers possible. Consider us like a start up company!
